by Stephen Roe
You can’t argue when Dion Dublin and Homes Under the Hammer comes to Bolton and asks Roe and Co Residential Sales to appear on TV. There is only one answer. “What’s the address and what time do you need me there! Oh and is it ok if Sue comes along this time?”
Homes Under the Hammer
Its seen as one of the most popular programs to air on the BBC. Having launched in 2003 at its usual time of 10am, it attracts around 1.5 million viewers, which is about 30% of the UK market share. This doesn’t include its reruns and the other channels the shows air on. So as you can guess, its a no brainer when they ask you to appear on the show.
The shows format is very simple. You witness the drama of the auction room and then visit the property once sold. This is where Roe and Co Residential Sales and Dion Dublin come in. You get a tour of the property, the estate agent and Dion gives their opinion of what work needs to be done. The new owner is interviewed, lays out their plans, budget and timescale. This is where every amateur DIY enthusiast gives their opinion, whilst sat on their sofa. Its either “no chance they’re doing it with that budget” or “I would have done this with it”
The good news is that you don’t have to wait long to find out what’s happened. You fast forwards several months later and you see the results of the buyers hard work. You are either left in shock at the work done in the timeframe or you have that little chuckle to yourself. You knew you was right.
If for some reason you haven’t seen it check it out on the BBC Website Just make sure you have paid your tv licence
Roe and Co have now been asked to film twice!!
That’s right. This estate agent from Bolton will appear on the hit show twice. The first property we can talk about, but the second we can’t. The first property Kate went to was on Shipton street in Bolton. It needed a lot of work due to fire damage and the building was in a state of disrepair. Kate had a tour of the property and gave her opinion to the camera on what work needed to be done. And, from what she explained, it needed a lot of work and it could take some time.
Not according to the vendor, the budget was small and the timescale was crazy.
Does the vendor achieve their goals and when will it be aired?
Did the vendor come in under budget or do they smash through it. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you. The good news, you do not need to wait too long. The Roe and Co show is due to be aired Tuesday 19th July 2022 at 11:15 am.
Let us know how you think we got on and we will update you when we are next due to be aired.
